April 27th and 28th Island Prefish and LEWT

Started out late Friday because of rough condtions Think we got out at 9 ish. Was looking for fishable water and good marks. Started on the east side of South bass and trolled with the waves down to starve. Pulled on 9lb on a spinner 35 back on a one ounce with a white back ultra glow blade and that was it there speed was 1.0 good marks through out the area just very negative. We then went up to the border and headed west around north bass towards bell buoy. Plenty of clean water but not many good marks till we got close to the bell buoy started fishing there and in 3 hours of so pulled 14 for 17 with some nice 26 and 27 inch fish. 1 ounce 35 and 45 back and two ounce 25 and 30 back any silver streak of JT with a White back was best and speed was 1.0 to 1.3. Decided to start there for the LEWT on Saturday. Saturday started at the bell buoy made a one hour pass and never touched a rod the water had really got dirty and I think thats why they wouldnt go. We then made the 9 mile run to D can where Ryan and Kevin had found Green water and fish the day before. 5 minutes into the troll we hit a double one 19 incher and one 27 incher and i figured game on wrong lol the condtions got brutal but we hung tough there and went 8 for 11. The only thing that worked except for two bites was pink squirrel copper back one ounce 45 back. other two was pink panties and are kicker fish towards the end of the day pink egg 45 back. We ended up taking 2nd place with 31.85 lbs. We’ll take it lol. Congrats to Kevin and Dj for 1st place you guys kicked Rhino butt.
Aaron and Crew are getting way to organized and did a great job. The having your own fish bag idea for the weigh ins was awesome. Thanks to all you guys for putting on a great show and to all the sponsors. Hats off to the check cashiers and good seeing everyone. BD
