Spring is here early and the fish are snapping. We have been fishing the island area and the Can areas where the fish are staging to spawn.

Perfect Tens and Bandits have been our go-to with colors from HL&S Customs. The new colors I posted two weeks ago on FB have been ON FIRE! Bandits 80-100. Perfect Tens 25/25, 30/30 and 40/40 with two ounces have been best Speed 1.0 to 1.3. Use your electronics to find schools of feeding fish. Remember, this time of year fish will move fast so don’t stay in one spot if you’re not catching.

Get out and get your fish on! Spring has sprung and the walleyes are biting.

From the Islands to Lorain fishing has been nothing short of amazing. Bandits have been flavor of choice. Leaded and Unleaded have both produced. Leads of 40 to 100 back straight up or 20/20 20/40 20/50 with 2 ounces all are catching fish. Speed 1.2 to 1.8.

Colors have been all over the place. Chrome bases, white bases, orange bases and pink bases are all good choices HL&S Customs are my favorite along with Kelly Schmidt Customs doing damage as well.

Areas have been all around the islands down the shoreline all the way to Lorain. We’ve been fishing as shallow as 20 ft and as deep as 50 ft. The bottom line. Use your Lowrance electronics to find fish and catch fish. We’ll be back once a week again with fishing reports.

The last week has been nothing but incredible. Big fish and lots of nice fish. Hot spots have been the entire can range from A to G and the islands from Green to Kelly’s all going great. Keys to success this time of year. Use your electronics to find fish, find the right water. I like no more than 2-feet of water clarity or less.

Run Bandits 50- to a 100-ft. back and Perfect Tens 25/25 and 30/30 with either one ounce or two ounces. Colors have been pink, chartreuse, white and orange bottoms. My favorites are painted by HL&S Customs. I also like stock colors and Dan Nista and DJ Customs. They are all great companies who paint great baits.

Speed has been 1.2 to 1.6 mph.

Run bandits 40′ to 100′ back. Jet 40 with Michigan stinger spoons 25′ to 60′ back. Dipseys 30′, 40′ and 50′ back on settings 3,2 and 1. Worm harnesses 2-ounce and 3-ounce 60′ back at about 1.5. Use your Lowrance electronics to find them and let her rip.
