Anyway, we’ve been blessed with a very mild winter and have been out multiple days a week for a few months now.
We’ve been fishing between Lorain and Huron and the catching has been fantastic for the most part.

28 to 45 ft of water. 1.0.mph give or take a tenth or two.
Perfect Tens weighted with 2 ounces.25/25 30/30 on one side.
Dead Eyes on the other side weighted with the same sets or no weight.
67,85 ,111,135. All behind Offshore boards.

A couple important things:
1. Use your Electronics. There are days that Nicholas and I will graph for 30 to 45 minutes
to locate the right fish before we even set up.
2. Make sure you have your speed and depth correct with your presentation. If that isn’t right your spinning your wheels.

It’s a great time to get out when mother nature allows! We will be running charters if you want to get out.

We’ve been either fishing really close to shore or out deep. It all depends on where
the bait is that’s being chased around by the 100 million walleye that are out there. Lol.

In close – East or west of the Harbour in 22 to 35 ft.
We’ve been pulling Bandits and Reef Runners 60 to a 100 back.
Color has been metallic bases and white bases with pink and orange bellies.
Dipseys with small Scorpion spoons. 60 on a 3. 50 on 2. 35 on a 0.
Shrimp, Sir Walleye, and Boy Girl have all been winners for weeks.
Speed 2.4 to 2.8.

Out deep – 48 to 52 ft. West,North and East of the dump.
Bandits and Reef Runners 100 to 150 with 2 ounces 25 ft in front.
Dipseys. 3 setting. 80 to 110
2 setting. 60 to 80
0 setting. 40 to 60
Speed same as above.

Fish are moving alot everyday. What worked today might be totally different tomorrow.
Use your Lowrance electronics to locate the fish and the bait.

We moved the boat back to Lorain last Monday. Early in the week, we were fishing north and east of the dumping ground. It was good. Nothing crazy but enough action to get 4 limits by 10 am.
Bandits 50,67,85 and a 100 worked well. Pink and orange belly customs worked the best.
Dipseys on a 3 setting with Rippling Red Fins at 40 back also worked well.
Speed was 2.4 mph with the current 1.9 mph against.
Current was north to south.
The last 4 days we have fished from Beaver Park to Vermillion in 38 feet of water. Catching was much much faster and customers were amazed that they didn’t gave time to sit down. They just kept catching.
Bandits 40,67,85,100 back.
Dipseys with Scorpion spoons. 3 setting 45, 2 setting 32. Shrimp was the best color spoon
Speed was 2.5 ish.
Color were the same on Bandits.
Most of the fish are just good eaters. There are a few nice ones in the mix. I suspect that quality will get better in a few weeks when more migrating
fish move into the area.
I’d much rather be catching than not catching, lol.

We moved the boat a month ago to Geneva on the Lake. It’s all about staying
on fish and catching fish for our great customers and this was definitely
the right decision.

Fishing has been phenomenal to say the least! We’ve been fishing from 7 to
12 miles due north of the Marina.
Two programs.
Dipseys with Shallow Bombers and Ripplin Red Fins.
3 setting. 150 to 200.
2 setting. 130 to 150.
1 setting. 100 to 120
0 setting. 80 to 110.
Wire. 250 from 25 to 75 over on big boards
Deep Thundersticks
Speed 2.4 to 2.8
Color chrome bases with orange, white and pink bellies.
Depth 68 to 75 ft.

The action and quality of these fish has been nothing short of incredible.
I expect the bite to continue through October. However it will be
determined on how fast the water cools and how fast the migration moves
back to the west.

It’s been a absolute great week in The Port of Lorain.
From the 32-36 north. To the 12 to the 17 west.
Program has been very easy.
Bandits and Spros. 100 to 150 back.
Dipseys.
3 setting 70 to 100 back.
2 setting 60 to 80 back.
1 setting 50 to 65 back.
0 setting 40 to 50 back.
Speed 2.2 to 2.6 depending on current.
Colors. The same as it has been.
Chartreuse and orange bellies.
Spoons copper back. Boy girl, Nascar, Sir Walleye.
